Film School Lesson : Helicopters and Kittens

I always tell my students that if you are in danger of losing your audience as a director, you can do one of two things:

One is to cut to an image of a kitten.

The other is to suddenly cut to an image of a helicopter midflight.

Ideally, you can do both at once and then your audience is back in the movie like magic.
